I think you're talking about those Seiko Kinetic watches that they used to
sell, right Jim? I remember seeing those in shops around 6-7 years ago.

More to your question, I don't think so... there doesn't seem to be a
"do-it-yourself" kinetic energy part around, and everything on Google seems
to either talk about electric bicycles or giant flywheels to replace
industrial UPS systems.

I know that some watches have some kind of a mechanism that uses the
kinetic energy as you fling it aound on your wrist throughout the day to
charge it. Seeing as how a lot of people here wear theirNewts, would this
mechanism be able to gernerate near enough power to appreciably extend
battery life between charges? (Especially since the Newt Holster usually
holds the Newts closer to the body's center- of gravity than a watch,
which woulld probabbly affect it.)
