Welcome to the club! I even RTFM, its nice bathtub lecture :-) and quite
often helpful to relax, because of boring style.

There are different people out there from different cultures which
understand written text in completely different ways, if they understand it
at all. A standard reminder could be formulated much more neutral and
wouldn't be anymore offending to anybody.
For the asking person would it be the best to get to the answer with one
click, so posting of a URL of the particular answer to the question would be
nice to have. But this is probably impossible due to the vast amount of FAQ
and topics. Maybe a sort of specialisation would be a possible thing.
Someone with more hardware skills and experiences (Stephanie, Johannes,
David, Frank and many others which I forgot to mention personally) and which
will stay still for some years at NTLK could take over to personally respond
to newbie questions and send out the appropriate URL not via the list, but
directly to the asking person. This would reduce traffic too.
I don't believe that there is an e-mail analyzer to check e-mails for newbie
questions and give automatic answers. Maybe Google is already very usefull
but I don't know how it could be limited to Newton pages and how to tell
Google where all the Newton FAQ's are.

Many of the Newtontalkers prepared webpages on their own servers. Some pages
are extremely useful FAQ contributions, but with having them on private
servers they may disappear or links might break. We could, if everyone with
such pages aggrees, put them on e.g. UNNA but we have therefore to solve the
problem with access rights. I would much more like to modify web pages on
UNNA than on my company webserver in order to have them on different places
and give them a new and much better home. They would have to be integrated
into the existing FAQ.
