I think you're mentioning two different things but other list members may
correct me please. As I understood does the Pixsolution upgrade involve only
up clocking to 220MHz and Dr. Newton does the Memory upgrade from 1 to 4 MB.
But maybe Pixsolution does the same.
Both solutions are probably equivalent and evenly far located from NZ and
make sense for a MP2k which is supposed to be used for normal applications.
Should you plan to use applications which are sensitive to the -10061 error
it might be worth to not upgrade. Any upgraded MP2k suffers this error and
requires a bug fix to be installed in order to avoid frequent restarts.
These restart will of course strictly follow Murphy's law and occur always
and only then if you need your MP quickly or want to demonstrate to others.
Some programs have their own built-in bug fix which will slow down them
considerably. There's e.g. GPSmap which will become as fast as a MP130 with
the bug fix on. W/o bug fix on a MP2k1 GPSmap will freeze the Newton after
about 5 map scrolls :-( I wanted to mention this only, just in the case you
plan to use GPSmap or some other application with similar properties.
On the other hand you could combine the shipping of your Newton and get
several upgrades, e.g. Here in EU. We would then forward your green friend
to the right addresses.
