Actually, there is NO memory leak. IIRC (it's been a while since this
semi-FAQ has come up), the code that Avi's BD uses to check on the memory
has to use a small piece of memory itself. If you watch the number, it goes
down to a certain point, and then the NewtOS 'cleans' the memory on its own
and the number pops right back up. Furthermore, if any package calls for
memory, I believe the OS 'cleans' memory before attempting to allocate the
requested memory. So, you see, this is just an artifact and nothing of any
consequence.

(My preference, though, would be that the number only update when I tap on
it. If I want to clean the memory, then I'd tap on the little RAM icon.
This would be less disturbing to new users.)
