Maybe I'm odd, but since I used to always carry a 5x8 DayTimer=AE with me
before I got my Newton, I went with a case of the same design. I started
with the BTI case, and later the Calise case. It was basically a wallet, or
maybe more of a purse (man bag?) :-) I have carried this thing with me
everywhere, in my hand. Yes, sometimes it's awkward, but usually I find way=
s
to get by with it. I had a shoulder strap made for it, so I could carry it
on my shoulder when needed, but I used it very seldom. Now that I've got a
2100, it didn't fit so well, so I bought that mystery case which comes with
a flip top, but doesn't have any storage for anything but a pen. I've falle=
n
in love with this thing. Having the flip top makes it nigh-instantly
accessible, which the Calise couldn't brag of. It has an elastic strap for
hand to slip under, to hold it more securely. It is also thinner than my
Calise, which makes it even easier to hold. I have simply gotten used to
carrying it. I suppose that living in Krakow, where it is normal for a man
to carry a hand-bag helps me to not feel awkward, but I used to carry my
DayTimer in the States and never felt awkward there either...

YMMV.
