It is a great feature, no doubt about that, and it's not restricted to
floppies -- any removable medium will leave a ghost when you eject it
with some files on it still open. MS-DOS and Windows didn't care -- you
could eject a floppy with files still open, insert a different floppy,
and MS-DOS/Windows would never know what happened. Are current versions
of Windows any smarter about this, I wonder?
Anyway, this hasn't got much to do with ejecting a floppy by dragging it
to the trash, which certainly _is_ counter-intuitive. On the other hand,
there isn't anything intuitive about closing a windows by clicking in its
top left corner, either -- there are some basic actions that just have to
be learned.
