I bought my MP2000 new (though I can't remember what I paid for it),
and when the product was discontinued, I bought a slightly-used model
for $900 as a back-up. (I do remember that $900 was fairly close to
list price of a new model at the time.) I suppose it was a good idea
for my peace-of-mind, but it never turned out to be necessary; I'm
still using the one I bought new.
