How are you connecting your Newton to your Mac? Is it through an
Ethernet hub or are you connecting it directly? The reason that I ask
is that some Macs require a crossover Ethernet cable to accomplish
this. If your computer has gigabit ethernet, then it can automatically
switch the parity accordingly, but otherwise you'll need to either
connect both computers to a hub or connect them with a crossover cable.

Thanks for getting back to me
I am using a crossover cable which worked beautifully under Macos9 with ncu
etc
I cant wait for newtsinc to arrive, I'm sure that this appletalk/ethernet
problem will sort itself out in time. I think maybe those for whom it works
cant explain how and why and those for whom it doesn=B9t, well they probably
just give up.

Another question about Newtsync
Will the apple address book be able to differenciate between companies and
people in future. What will happen on my newton if I physically change
entries in the address book from people to companies?

Thanks again
