No screen but backlight replacements have been done IIRC, people with bright
backlight replacements have said that especially light colors (like white)
improve the legibility of the screen, but that won't help you in bright
daylight, of course.
Have you tried bigger font sizes, adjusted contrast (bottom of your Extras,
double tap the word 'contrast' once you're happy with it) and those kind of
simple remedies ?
