Well, usually they're synonyms, but a server can sometimes references some
process/application that is providing some kind of services. So, you can
have a computer called a server, on which is the smtp server software
running, so that you can receive email. Sendmail is the server software to
send email. But you don't need to know those details to send/receive email
with your Newton...

None that I'm aware of. It would help if you could tell use which email
client you're using on your Newton, I'm guessing it's SimpleMail or it has
to be EnRoute...
