[NTLK] WiFi...?

I'm a little slow, so forgive me if this has been done to death...

If I put an AirPort card and the right software in my G4 and a Lucent
Orinoco Gold card and its drivers in my Newton, the Newton can
wirelessly use the G4's internet connection? And, assuming I find one
in Chicago, the Newton will be able to connect to public wireless
networks? Why do I have the feeling it's not as easy as it sounds...?
