Brian;

    This sounds like a Targus/NEC MobilePro 700 case. Targus made the case
and NEC sold them for use with the MobilePro. They do hold a 2100 with room
to spare. They hold the 700 exactly. If you use it with the 2100 keep the
door on it as the credit card area on the opposite side of the Velcro will
scratch your screen. The two elastic loops running down the spine hold two
AA batteries (the MobilePro 700 ran on two AA batteries). To hold the 2100,
just tape Velcro on the back of your Newton and stick it in the case. Also,
I've seen GEM offer these cases on eBay for about $30US.
