I think that actually many of the BT cards are 16 bit PCMCIA Type
II cards - the problem is with USB adapters which are mostly, if
not all, CardBus (32 bit) cards.

One of the PCMCIA BT cards which reportedly shows up as a
communications card is the Intel/Xircom CreditCard BT adapter.
Meaning that theoretically, you could write a driver for it.
