Regarding the Firstfone: When I bought the firstfone it worked with the driv=
ers=20
from novamedia.de. So I set up the webpage=20
newton.guhl.net/newton/fifo/index.shmtl ;-)
Suddenly the Firstfone stopped working with my 2100d. The last thing I have=
=20
been trying was to access the firstfone with PT100 (serial connection) and=
=20
issue AT commands, that worked fine, so I setup a *serial* NIE setting with =
a=20
login script (e.g. ATZ, send cr, ATDT123456789, send cr, wait for: login, se=
nd=20
login, wait for password, send passwort, wait for connect, done). I could no=
t=20
get a successful dialup connection to my isp anymore...though it should work=
,=20
maybe my login script just needed some more finetuning. As I got a Nokia Car=
d=20
Phone 2.0 in the meantime and as I could connect my T68i mobile phone with a=
=20
cable to my newton, I do not use the firstfone with my newton anymore.
In case you need a rock solid dialup (with hscsd even up to 43.2 kbit/s)=20
internet connection and send/reveive faxes with your newton, go for a second=
=20
hand nokia card phone 2.0 (but *not* the 1.0 version, it does *not* work in =
a=20
newton). There are drivers and an sms application for the ncp 2.0.
Another possibility is to use nitro (www.40hz.org) that allows using the=20
newton's irda port to connect to a mobile phone and use it as a modem!! Chec=
k=20
the website, there are even successful GPRS connection reported.

ii)How else can i get on-line wireless with a PCMCIA Card without a=20
mobilphone
All this with my best Friend Newton 2100.
