Hi Scott (after supper) ;),

LUN =3D Logical Unit Number.
In theory, a SCSI device, such as a hard drive only needs one on-board=20
controller to run multiple spindles. But as far as I know, the only place=
=20
they use that is in CD jukeboxes. A normal SCSI device should always be s=
et=20
to LUN 0.

Bad mistake. By default, device 7 is the SCSI controller itself. On some=20
controllers, this can be changed but I don't see any reason to do so.

I'm not sure about the things you're seeing there. It looks to me like th=
e=20
controller is not a proper SCSI controller. You might want to check for a=
=20
PowerDomain 2930 on ebay, they go for about $10 - $20 and I heard, they w=
ork=20
pretty well. Not sure about the cable on those, I never had one. Is your=20
controller some IOmega card? can you check their web site to see what it'=
s=20
capable of?

I have a PowerDomain 2940UW, but it's no longer supported in MacOS X, so =
I'm=20
not using it any more. It worked for a while but had the tendency to=20
completely lock up the machine (PM 9600/233 with a NewerTech MaxPower G4/=
400=20
upgrade card). So, I'm not too sure if they work to well to begin with. T=
he=20
9600 has two SCSI busses, one for internal use only, the other can be use=
d=20
internally and has an external 25-pin port which runs the SCSI ZIP drive =
just=20
fine (and some other external SCSI devices).

Best regards,
Chris (going home now - might not be able to respond until tomorrow).
