I spent $20 on my serial dongle, and it was well worth it!
Ethernet might be a good option if you plan on connecting your Newton
to a Network, but otherwise I'd suggest the serial dongle (Serial is
also good it you want to someday get a keyboard for your Newt! ;-)
What I would really like to see is someone come up with a cable that
connects to the Newton (no dongle) and has a USB at the other end (or
firewire!). That would be sweet, and probably make a good chunk of
change in the process. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to keep the
Powerbook 3400 around for a while yet....
