Mostly, it's an external brain pack that doesn't look like a slab of
liver. (Play spot the reference here.)

PIM functions are the most heavily used, especially calendaring, as I
manually add work appointments to personal appointments. (Still hoping
to make Cadenza talk with Notes R5, but I haven't had much time to play
with it). The Names app stores everything I know about people, as my
other walkabout gadget (cell phone) doesn't do anything except phone
numbers, and I've got well over 200 contacts in the Newt.

The Notepad gets a fair amount of use also, as a place to organize
thoughts about structuring thing (I'm a programmer by trade), and it
keeps things from getting scattered while planning things on busses or
airplanes. No slips of paper to lose, and you can't copy and paste
repetative text with a pencil.

Games don't get *much* use, but various Mah Jhong clones do get fired up
occasionally.
