I use NewtonIM, and while you can send and (sometimes) receive
messages, it is not very reliable. (as for example, a jabber client
on a pc)
Seems to work better than NewtJab tho
Maybe there isnt a lot of interest in IM on the newt, or maybe those
clients are the best we could hope for on the newt... anyway, IM is a
nice idea, but doesnt work all that well on the newt (so far at least)
