I can think of 2 ways:

1) From the 'Extras' screen, tap the "I" in the lower left corner, select
'Memory Info" and read the 'System RAM Installed' number.

2) Open the 'battery hatch' on the bottom of the eMate(uses a nr. 8 Torx)
and see whether you have a vacant socket. Vacant socket=no upgrade.
