Well ... more internal means less investment in a huge card ... Also it
means that I can actually remove my cards sometimes to say, move things
to another Newton with, and for those people who actually have two
non-RAM cards they use, they may be able to use them both with this.

To me its a big convenience thing. The ATA driver is pretty incredible
but the cost, coupled with the cost of a card and adapter to use with
it is not the best option for some of us. For others its not refined
enough yet and people are waiting into the future a bit before going
that direction. And some of us just don't need as much space as that
gives us.

Thing is more options are better and this would give me an option that
I would lean towards.
