Whatever it is, it's a dramatic change... I used to run the seti_at_home
screensaver on my old P133 - it would take some 200 hours per unit. Then
I told the screensaver to not actually draw anything after it had been
running for a couple of minutes (since Windows blanked the screen anyway)
and it dropped to 50-60 hours per unit. It still did some drawing, but
only a few minute's worth before going to full-speed processing.
I should install the command-line client on my new computer, maybe. And
join the Newton seti group... if I can remember my old password, I'll
even be able to keep the credit for all the old work units I did a few
years ago :-)
