I went through the same problem last week. 16MB linear card that had
been in use 5 days a week for seven years ran into problems when I
accidentally backed up to it instead of to the backup card. From then
on, the card couldn't be mounted. Robert suggested SBM utilities,
which looked promising, but the card still couldn't be recognized.
Took about 4 days, but I got all back in order from various backups,
importing from address book, etc.
