I think the newer ones are based on the Atheros chipset which is
different from the previous Lucent/Orinoco/Agere/Intersil version of
the Silicon.
I don't know where exactly the changeover point was. If you can find a
way to verify the chipset, you should be ok.
Sorry I don't have more specific info, but I figured it's best to warn
you, even if it is an annoyingly vague warning.
