There is really no point for the price difference between the
USB 2 miniDIN adapter and the
USB 2 sub-D 9 adapter.
As long as the latter is recognized from the Mac (what I strongly assume),
you can of course go for the SUB-D9 in connection with a PC-Newt serial
cable.
