Yes, a lot of the PIMs use the Date and Names application files/soups
however they also create their own storage for information not supported by
the standard Date and Names Applications. They can be backed up by NCU but
if you shift PIMs then the unique information supported by the older PIM are
unlikely to be taken across. For example linking information between
objects such as tasks and notes or names and other items; so Moreinfo links
can't be used by Action Names and vice versa.

Yes that is also a great program. My only problem with it was that it uses
custom soups and while it does have a "convert" feature to move your data
from the custom soups
