I use an old Powerbook G3 Firewire (Pismo) It's seen heavy usage, (the sound
in and out ports have been soldered) and that may be a contributor. Oh, and
I have an unsupported CD burner installed most of the time. But I do think
the kernel panics are rather extreme. The only other time I ever got one was
when I inserted my cd burner once, directly after watching a DVD, quitting
the program, and removing the DVD drive... Upon the insertion of the burner,
I got the panic. I've never repeated this process, so I don't know if that
was a fluke either... However, it seems to me that kernel panics on my
computer have been related to peripheral devices...
I never bothered reporting it to Paul, because I think my problem _is_
unique...
