Hi Guys,
Aaaargh! My powerbook froze and sent my mail before I was finished typing!
As I was saying...
"Here's proof that I can type and read them on my mac:
"
etc:
"?"S? ?????&????ܵ???9:fifl!R0????Ƹ???¯?
I am aware of most the ASCII subsets out there and all the extra
characters, ligatures, and symbols that come with using some "expert" fonts.
I really can't see how anyone on a PC can cope having to hold ALT then
type some semi-random 3 to 4 digit number
When I got the digest the other day and read Berthe's email I came
across this "" which according to everyone else on this forum looks
like the " the trademark symbol or the Swedish cap with the ring on
top. I am on a Mac OS 9.2.2 using Netscape 7.02 Mail app, reading in
American English, with Western (ISO-8859-1) character coding and this
"" (I am copy and pasting this, I don't know how to type this symbol)
shows up as the universal symbol icon of the female stick figure used to
denote a Ladies restroom. You know, round-dot-of-a-head, then a triangle
with arms for the body/skirt, and two sticks holding it up for legs, Not
a very flattering graphic of a the female form, I think, but I am still
confused as how I am the only one seeing this.
Any good answer or explanation would be appreciated.
Later,
Jonathan
