A lot of languages that have survived to today have done so because
they borrow words from other languages and remain dynamic, relevant and
growing to meet current needs.

I mentioned the derivation of Algorithm because it certainly points to
mathematics coming from civilizations and cultures that preceded the
Greeks. The ancient Greeks were in their own right great historians and
compilers of knowledge from all over the ancient worlds.
