YET! Don't forget that sometimes open sourced softwares take longer
then we expect for the right people to come along and pick up the ball.
  Just look at Mozilla, the posterchild for open sourced software. It
took a while for the ball to get rolling there, but these days the .2
versions they produce look a lot better then some 1.0 versions from
redmond...

Lets not get too depressed about the lack of developers working on DCL
and escale, hopefully this thread might trigger some bright persons
interest in advancing these fantastic projects and bringing us all
greater future versions.

Lets all say thanks to Paul and all of our other fantastic developers,
who really keep this platform alive.

People coping an attitude like they "expect" anything to be open
sourced is kind of rude, like assuming you can borrows your neighbors
house...
