MacOS X advertises printers thru ipp (Internet Printing Protocol or
something like this), the successor of lpr. Nevertheless, the printers are
available via lpr/lpd with CUPS-lpd bridge.

Apple Airport Extreme Base Stations advertise printers thru Rendezvous.
They are lpr/lpd printers, if I remember properly. Support for automatic
discovery of these was planned in LPR Driver at some point. I just have to
prioritize my time and I admit this currently has a low priority. All the
source code is there, so if someone wants to code it, feel free to do so.

In the meanwhile, you need to enter the IP or the domain name of the
printer server. For a base station, it's something like 10.0.1.1 or
whatever your Macs/Newtons/whatever have as their router/gateway setting
(it may also begin with 192.168).
