I am very impressed by all this talk of repairing backlights. The light on =
my trusty eMate stopped working some years ago, although the button still=
produces a noise so I assume the connection is operating, and I have lea=
rned to operate it without much light. I just would not trust it to survi=
ve a journey in the mail, one can live with a dark eMate but not with no =
eMate!

There's not that much soldering involved. See=3D20

The prices mentioned there are no longer correct,
they have lowered the price to I think 29 Euros or
so. If you want, I can solder a wire/connector combo
to it for free and forward everything to you at cost.
Of course, you're welcome to donate to NewtonTalk or
the WorldWide Newton association if you'd rather not
get anything for free ;-)
