If your server supports it, you should enjoy the switch. Messages you
delete, stay deleted everywhere, for example. Also a draft that you
start, is available from other systems. I say if you have IMAP and
don't use it, your mad :~)

Yes, I think that is correct. Although I think that messages that you
have read stay available in the inbox. Still if you clean up your
inbox, and you have a bunch of storage, you can just download the
messages.
