My backlight is neither dead nor dying, I want a white backlight. I
love the green, but white would be a lot easier on my eyes. The screen
is still in good shape, the backlight is bright, I do worry about my
hinges. The unit is rather difficult to open, and I don't recall my
last emate being this way. I'll do some searching and see if I can
contact these folks to see if they have the stock green or other
colored backlights.

As always, I'd be lost without NewtonTalk :)
