With a compatible ethernet card and drivers installed the eMate can
link to NCU via ethernet.
see <http://tools.unna.org/wikiwikinewt/index.php/EthernetCards> for
a list of compatible cards.
once the card is available
see <http://tools.unna.org/wikiwikinewt/index.php/EthernetDrivers>
for driver information see also Frank Gruendel's site <http://www.pda-
soft.de/ethernetconnectivity.html>
This will address ethernet connectivity with OS 7 thru 9 or Classic
running NCU

Synchronizing with OS X is not without its challenges, if you have
been following this list over the last few weeks there has been some
discussion of difficulties, yet it may be useful for you
see < http://thenowhereman.com/hacks/newton>

I think that you can use serial with the iBook with the Keyspan
serial/USB adapter.
