There have been so many postings on this subject I'm a bit lost.
However, for what it's worth, one of the problems I had when trying
to connect by ethernet was forgetting the following:
Prefs>AppleTalk>Connect Using EtherTalk and Prefs>AppleTalk>Card
select your card from the list.
Just a thought.
