You are exactly right. My Keyspan USB/PDA adaptor is not compatible
with the Newton serial one.

To prove it, I had plugged my 2100 into a serial port of my beige G3,
and use Newten to transfert packages, and it worked perfectly. So the
problem is really between the adaptor and the 2100 serial board.
