Hello list,

many of you already had the chance to experience bluetooth
communications on Newton
thanks to the Pico Bluetooth Card from <http://notwen.com/bluetooth>

But most important thanks go to Eckhart's for developing the Blunt
drivers
<http://40hz.org/wiki/index.php/Blunt>

[ Please also help testing Blunt2 <http://40hz.org/wiki/index.php/
Blunt_2> ]

Each Pico Bluetooth Card ships with Windows software on CD which
makes possible
to Win users to take use of the card on their laptops' pcmcia slot,
but now I have
nice news to OS X users, cause a free Mac driver for the Pico
Bluetooth Card exists!!!

The 'Card Blues Suite' can be acknowledged and downloaded from here:
<http://www.traud.de/bluetooth/index.html>

In order to install the Pico dedicated drivers on OS X, the user will
need to select the file
in the 'Ad-Hoc' window, cause following the 'Standard' procedure
won't make it installed.

Have to admit that after the reboot the drivers worked a bit buggy on
my TiBook running 10.4.8,
but maybe many others will report a different experience.

Other than that, considering that the source code is provided free, I
wouldn't wonder if Eckhart
would take a look at it and maybe come out with a professional
solution! Trust me, he ROCKS!!!

I would now recommend to take a try to two very useful and free utils
from the following link:
<http://www.devon-technologies.com/products/freeware/services.html>

  - BlueService 1.2.2:
Send plain or rich text (in the form of notes or short messages) to
Bluetooth devices.

  - PDF2RTFService 1.0:
Enables many Cocoa applications, like TextEdit or Apple Pages, to
open Adobe PDF,
PostScript, and Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files as paginated rich
text documents.

Please test them, and share your opinions.

Cheers, Adriano
