Hi Marty
Many thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed response. As you
suggested I turned off WEP from the configuration panel on my windows
desktop. The newt and Lucent Silver connected up just fine using the
basic DHCP setting! I've obviously turned this back off.

The WEP key is 26 characters long and is detailed on the router/modem
itself and appears exactly the same in the configuration panel on the
windows machine. I've checked the Orange Website and it doesn't have
anything about changing this.

When I type this key into the set up screen on the newt is says, 'string
too long', this is true for both 'string' and 'hexadecimal' modes.

Should I attempt to change the WEP key on the configuration panel on the
windows machine to something shorter?

If so how short and what would the conseqences of doing this be?

Many thanks in advance.
Andy
