Me after you and Frank for a FreeKey, please. I say
that in a burst of unbridled optimism.
Perhaps the easiest workaround for this problem might
be for you to offer your roll-up keyboard on the list
in exchange for a Newtway-compatible Stowaway
keyboard? This assumes that Newtways are still
available (are they?).
It also assumes that trading the particular make and
model of keyboard that you have for a Stowaway is at
least a somewhat even trade (rather than a horribly
lopsided one).
I, too, would love to use a PS/2 keyboard with a
Newton. But the FreeKey aside, I would be truly
amazed (not to mention gratified) if someone saw fit
to put in the kind of work that developing such a
physical interface would take at this late date.
While I think of it: is the connector on your roll-up
keyboard a USB or a PS/2-type connector? I ask this
because if it's the former, the write-up on the
FreeKey seems to indicate that using a USB keyboard
with a USB-PS/2 adapter in conjunction with the
FreeKey won't work.
Best,
James Fraser
