New can mean ten years on the shelf and perhaps significantly
degraded, it can also mean newly manufactured. I have purchased other
things from the powerbookguy so no problem there.
Have a look at interstate batteries <http://
www.interstatebatteries.com> they offer newly manufactured packs using
1500 mAh cells, the original ones were 1100 mAh.
If you are up to a small bit of soldering, Sonny Hung recently
referred us to
<http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1760>
these are 2600 mAh cells.
