[NTLK] Install packages to ATA card?

I've seached, I've poked around, but I'm missing it.
I would like to select where packages are installed by default. I want to install to a removable card instead of internal storage.

I do not have a serial cable.

My ATA card, IrDA, wifi, and ethernet links all work. I have my TiBook on OS9 right now so I have some connectivity options.

Thanks for any help you can provide an active Newbie.
