I would kindly disagree with this statement. The 1400 was one of the best laptops Apple ever produced. I have a 1400c 133 sitting here in mint shape. The 1400 earned the name "Volvo" because of its reliability and dependability.

It was not perfect, but an excellent machine nonetheless. For instance, it had/has a gorgeous 800 x 600 11.3" screen, a 12x CD ROM drive, excellent keyboard, and solid IO. Any defects on this model? None really, and it came after the PowerBook 5300 fiasco.

Sure, it was slow, but you can get 400 MHz G3 upgrade processors for it, and it runs OS 8.6 very well. It also is not the best looking PowerBook ever produced, but it is rock solid.
