I also had problems with going into a reset reset cycle.
Different in that it was not related as far as I know to 'Alarm'. but
occurred when using Dates, TimeTrax or More Info.
I had also removed the 2010 patch.
After removing the battery and restarting with no apps running
I used Extras to move Dates data to a card.
Performed brain wipe
Restored to most recent backup. I deleted all Dates data from that
backup then moved the data from the card back.
so far all seems well.
