And as to the better machines....if you refer to the PocketPC, I played
with one this weekend (the new HP Jornada). Truly, Truly awful. The
Palm is better (and the Newton even better - even an OMP).
I hear that Conrad Blickenstorfer, editor of Pen Computing magazine, says
that a PocketPC unit finally replaced his 2100. I can't believe it
after playing with one. I couldn't believe how awful it was. And they
said this thing was supposed to be simpler than older WinCE units. I
couldn't tell....compared to a Palm or a Newton, it's a byzantine mess.
And other than color, I've yet to see ANY PDA surpass a 2100. And I've
played with a LOT of 'em (and own a Palm IIIx as well as a 2100).
If you mean future Apple or Palm units....those are rumors/future
plans....not real products. I hope you're right...but it's over 2 years
and counting and the 2100 still reigns supreme. Depressing, ain't it.
