You'll have to built an adapter but you'll have to care about the
temperature sensor too, if the trickle charger takes care of it at all.

But there's another drawback: If you remove the accu of your MP2k w/o
external DC you'll have it restarting after you re-insert the charged
one. May be you feed the charger voltage into the DCin of the MP2k? I
tried this with a simple solar cell with very good results.
