Like it or not, PalmOS devices are the only supported PDA for Mac Users.
And when our Newton's eventually break, get stolen, get dropped, or just
wear down to nothing, unless you want to go back to Paper and Pencils, it
might be a good idea to keep up with the what is the best available
replacement.
I love my Newton, but I know it won't be here forever, so I enjoy reading
about PocketPC's and Palms, in the hopes that someone will finally make a
viable alternative.
It took a long time, but already there are features of the new devices that
are unavailable to us. Nothing critical at the moment. The only feature I
am really wanting for is the publication of current books as E-Texts. The
screens are too small on the other devices, I grant you, but that is a
different argument. As time goes on, more and more, we will be left in the
dust, missing out on new features and abilities.
So, I applaud MacWorld and their coverage of the devices that I might have
to start using.
