im not a programmer, didnt know it was that tricky to re-write the code for
the serial connection.

i agree that free work is nothing but risk-taking, and i fully understand
your point. the newt is an abandoned platform, which makes it hard to
believe that you will have credits for your work, since this is a rather
small community. the efforts of the newt programmers seldom have any
publicity, which is also a pain for the devoted newton hacker.
also, it takes _a_lot_ to co-ordinate such a project as NewtonLink, which
makes it hard to believe that ppl will work for free. still, i think that
many people would rather pay to see this software, that not paying and not
using it ;-D
anyway, i support the link project and will definately pay for it if you
guys will decide it will be commercial. what concerns the translators for
the synch applications such as MS Word, the code should be free (IMHO).
