Incorrect.
"Voyager"-based Newtons (MP2x00, eMate 300) support IrDA as well as the
older NewtIR standard, but do not implement the full suite of data transfer
protocols - this is what Smart Dog Software is working on:
Older Newtons use Sharp ASK based communications: They can use either the
ASK protocol, or a superset of ASK written by Apple called NewtIR.
