I had a chance to mess with these cards for a while.
While they do work with the Newton, the problem is
that since most Newt owners are Mac owners, when i
reviewed the cards, there were no Mac Flash drivers
for it. The card is the same for all the GSM phones it
supports. All you gotta do is purchase the correct
cable for your phone and it comes with a Windows 95/98
disk (back then they didn't even have NT but they were
working on a DOS version. A Mac version wasn't even in
the works), then through a rather complicated
proceedure, you flashed the card to work with the
phone and cable. Once this was done it would function
just like a standard modem, which worked fine in a
Newt.
As for ISDN, sorry, didn't have an ISDN connection to
test with it...I did test the card on a wide variety
of Nokia, Ericcson, Siemans and Sagem phones...every
phone worked flawlessly (maximum speed was only
14.4...but I averaged 9.6) but as "cool" as that was,
it sure doesn't beat my StarTac (I have a startac
holster mounted on the lid of my laptop permantly so
it holds my StarTac whenever I log on wirelessly with
my laptop!)
