Hi, everyone,
Just wanted to point out that I've played with the Favorite Styles button
(for TapBar) briefly and learned one interesting thing. In Works, you can
NOT set the style and write, expecting it to work. But you CAN highlight
text and reformat it easily.
Example: I created a style called H1 (heading 1), Fancy, 18 pt, bold. I
otherwise write in "casual" which is Casual, 12 pt, plain. I can write
Works text, highlight, and choose the format. This gives me a cheap and
slightly unorganized way to get styles into my Works
documents. Convenient.
In Notes, the button actually toggles you into a style and keeps you
there. In Works, you have to either highlight and then change styles and
use that style afterward, or (this is weird) you change styles, return,
and then you get the new one. The toggle to the new style only happens
across paragraphs, it seems (which is nominally consistent with the way
desktop word processors work, since the paragraph tag is what matters,
though here you are setting a new tag before creating a new paragraph,
while not changing the old paragraph's style tag).
Sorry for the details for those who don't care, but this is a slick
utility!
ciao
Michael
